Open Season was a sculptural installation comissioned for the 2010 Melbourne Fashion Festival, which used a patchwork of found fabrics to create a living structure. Repurposing the bright colours and graphic prints of the fashion industry, the work sought to create an intimate meeting place for social interaction. The tipi-like form clebrated the ingenuity and elegance of early cultural inhabitations and design, while questioning the exotic perspective often applied by commerce to indigenous arts, patterns and customs.
